About Priest Media

Priest Media is an independent, locally owned media company based in the Sandhills of North Carolina.

We’re not part of a national media corporation or operated from an office hundreds of miles away. We’re based here, our decisions are made here, and we’re invested in the communities we serve.

Founded by veteran journalist Patrick Priest, Priest Media combines more than two decades of professional media experience with deep roots in the community.

Our goal is simple: use media, storytelling and technology to inform, connect and serve our community.

Local at Our Core

We believe being local means more than having a local address.

It means knowing the communities you serve. It means understanding the people, places and issues that matter here. And it means being accessible and accountable to the same community you’re creating content for.

Priest Media is independently owned and operated, giving us the freedom to make decisions based on what makes sense locally rather than answering to a distant corporate office.

That local connection is at the heart of who we are.

Local Roots. Professional Experience.

For founder Patrick Priest, those local connections go back a lifetime.

Born and raised in Moore County, Patrick got his first start in media at just 16 years old, working for Muirfield Broadcasting’s Star 102.5. He later studied Broadcast Production and Journalism at Central Carolina Community College in neighboring Lee County before beginning his professional television news career in 2002.

Since then, Patrick has spent more than two decades working in television news and professional media. His career has included local and national newsrooms, with extensive experience in photojournalism, breaking news, digital journalism, video production and multimedia storytelling.

While his career has provided opportunities to work well beyond the Sandhills, Moore County has always remained home.

Priest Media brings that professional newsroom experience home, combining decades of work in the media industry with a firsthand understanding of the community and the people who live here.

The company grew from Moore County News, an independent digital news outlet Patrick launched in 2024. As that publication grew, Priest Media was created to provide a broader home for the work being done today and the possibilities of tomorrow.

More Than a Media Company

Media continues to change, and we believe local media should be willing to change with it.

For Priest Media, that means thinking beyond traditional definitions of publishing or broadcasting. Journalism and storytelling are part of what we do, but the possibilities extend to digital platforms, video, community resources and other projects that can help people stay informed, discover what’s around them and feel more connected to where they live.

What we create should have a purpose, fill a need and provide genuine value to the community.

That’s ultimately what Priest Media is about: using professional media experience and modern technology to create something useful right here at home.

What Doesn’t Change

Platforms will change. Technology will change. The way people consume information will continue to change.

Our principles shouldn’t.

Accuracy. Quality. Trust. Independence. Community.

Those values guide what we create and how we operate.

Priest Media may continue to evolve, but our focus will remain local: creating meaningful work for the communities we know and call home.

We’re local. We’re independent. And we’re invested in our community.
